System Crash when Reformatting Hard Drive
I had a problem with malware on my PC. As a result I am trying to reformat
the hard drive to start anew. However my system keeps crashing when I am in the middle of the reformatting process. It is always at a random spot in the process. Is there any know way to fix this problem? |

You are using the installation CD for this purpose, aren't you? XP will not format the system drive (nor should it). Jim |

System Crash when Reformatting Hard Drive

Also open up the box and check for dust on the heatsinks and fans, it may be
overheating. -- ---- Crosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 "GreenieLeBrun" wrote in message ... Although you are using the CD, are you absolutely sure that your PC's BIOS is configured so that your PC is *booting* off the CD-ROM drive?
