Default Windows XP install on partitions

I've already got XP pro installed on the C part of my four
part partitioned drive. I want to wipe the C drive and
install XP on D: which is now wiped. When I go through the
install process and tick the box to allow me to choose the
partition it reboots but then only shows the C: drive
available for installation on. Help.
