Default HOW TO STOP MESSENGER POP-UPS!

It required no effort at all. It may seem that way to a 300 baud mind in a
broadband world.

Wow, you put a lot of effort in to such a small argument. It's funny how
worked up your getting.

Run along now troll.

P.S. Those grade 6s really shouldn't be teaching you such language. :-)

You didn't "prove" jack cable guy. You just made a pitiful attempt to

feel
superior by arguing about an inconsequential semantic (a common trait of
small minds), and you are so hopelessly literal minded that anything I

have
to say is taken as being serious, literal and consequential. You are a
thick buffoon and a crushing bore.

Puff out your chest like some neurotic prairie chicken, regale your
significant other with tales of your superior debating talents and

joyously
anticipate getting laid as he swoons, wide-eyed and admiring of your

giant
intellect. Usenet is overrun with morons like yourself, and thus you

are
as
common as dog poop in central park, though unlike dog poop you lack its
existential scatological aspect, thus you are significantly less
interesting.

Your self esteem is obviously so damaged and lacking that you check into
obscure ng's such as this and attempt to play the white knight by

jumping
to
the defense of the rude and ignorant. Beneath your underdog exterior is

a
twit eaten up by self doubt and self loathing and there is little hope

that
wretches such as yourself will ever realize even a hint of self
actualization.

You're dismissed little man. Assume your accustomed fetal position and
insert thumb into mouth.

I'm the 5 year old? ROFL!

I proved you wrong, you admitted it, and all you can do is call me

names,

LOL! Why don't you go ask your mom what a sour grapes, and a hopeless
battle is.

Nahhh. I have a real life. Besides, I've been posting in this ng

off
and
on for a couple of years.

You seem to have been waiting with some anticipation for my next
installment
Cable Guy.
Sorry, I'll try to check in here more often. I know your time is

valuable
.

Yes, yes, I concede. You're absolutely right. I really, really

wanted
an
apology. Now there.
Also, my preceding post most certainly was not, in any sense

whatsoever,
an
example of hyperbole. Yes, I have behaved like a 5 year old. You've

won
Cable Guy. Your flame artistry is way out of my league. God, you're
smart.
I'm so humiliated. You're the best my man. You're the king of the

hill.
Numero uno. I really wanted him to apologize. I admit it. I lied.
You've
exposed me....yada,yada,yada.

Now run along and pick on someone your own size before I tell me mum

on
ya,
ya big bully.

My god, you really need to brush up on practical usage of a

hyperbole.
That was not a hyperbole.
The most it could be was sarcasm. If it was, you might want try

to
make
it
appear so in the future.

P.S. all that name calling does is make you seem like a 5

year-old.

And please explain how my logic is faulty ). You say one
thing -quite
bluntly-, but yet you mean something else?

Yes, your post may have had the intention of being insulting,

but
it
also
seemed like you wanted Pcyr to apologize.

You seem to be rather literal minded. Do you really think

I
was
trying
to
elicit an apology?
My post was meant to be nothing other than insulting.

Moose

"Comp Guy" wrote in message

You expect him to apologise after you talk like that?

Sounds
hypocritical
to me.

After you answer almost every post about these pop-ups,

then
you
can
talk.
I wonder how many users have come to this NG, not

bothered
to
run
a
search,
but instead of asking the worlds biggest FAQ, they see

this,
and
their
problem is solved.

Wonder why MS hasn't removed this like they do to other

top
posts?
(That
was a rhetorical question BTW.)

That language is not helpful one bit, and doesn't

exactly
add
any
support
to
your views.

Despite all your idiotic mutterings, the simple fact

is
that
you
post
dated
your innanities so we all have to see this tripe at

the
top
of
our
readers
for months to come and be reminded that usenet is
overpopulated
with
moronic
cases of arrested development. Also, no one gives a

simple
rat's
ass
about
your educational pursuits and your need to post such

drivel
does
not
raise
your esteem in this ng one iota. In other words,

there
is
absolutely
no
way
for you to correct your rude behavior other than for

you
to
apologize,
admit
you're wrong, wrong, wrong and then contemplate doing
yourself
in
and
post
a
daily diary of that contemplation so we can encourage

your
progress.
Now
get started you little prig.

*Note* These Pop-ups are part of Messenger Service

and
*NOT
WINDOWS

MSN
MESSENGER*

For Messenger Service ads:
You need to install or enable a firewall:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q330904

*Note* Unless properly and, unfortunately, manually
configured,
ALL
Windows
Messenger file transfers, voice conversations, and

video
conversations
will
fail to connect. (If anyone knows how to properly
configure
the
Windows

XP
firewall, please post how.)

Disabling Messenger Service can be a good idea, but

it
does
not
solve
the
real problem.

The ads are not the real problem, the ads are only a
symptom
of
a
larger
issue. The real problem is open ports that allow

unwanted
traffic
into
the
computer.

Disabling Messenger does nothing for the open ports.

You
would
need
a
firewall that controls the traffic.

Although not an obvious problem, open ports can lead

to
larger
problems
such
as hackers, and backdoor Trojan viruses.

The above solution will not work if you have AOL as

is
not
compatible
with
Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall (ICF). If

you
have
AOL,
you
should
contact AOL and/or get a 3rd party firewall. [Why

would

you

using
AOL
in the first place, no offence, but check out this

Disable Messenger Service:
