Default MSN Messenger 6.1

I have a user with XP Home, Windows Messenger works fine
but they want to use MSN Messenger 6.1... I tried to
explain both programs do the exact same thing but the user
likes the GUI of 6.1...The MSN Messenger installs fine but
once launched, it automatically signs in, the contact list
is displayed, then the window disappears in 20 seconds,
the icon is still in the system tray but when you move the
cursor over it, the icon disappears???? I have disabled
Windows Messenger from Windows Components, no change, I
have un-installed MSN Messenger 6.1 and re-installed, no
change??? I have removed MSN a couple of times and still,
on re-install, it reacts the same way....again Windows
Messenger works fine but MSN Messenger 6.1 acts very
strange... I have searched the MS Knowledge Base, the net
with Google but cannot find a solution to this
problem...to me it is a minor issue (cause Windows
Messenger works) but to the user, it is a concern...

Any thought from anyone, thanks in advance
