Computer hangs at startup
I had a computer crash and had to install Windows XP from the start. I
formatted the hard drive and installed Windows XP Professional and every thing went fine except..... When I start OR Re-start windows there is a long delay (60 to 90 seconds) between the time I see the Windows XP logo (FLASH PAGE?) and the time the WELCOME screen coms on. Can anyond help on this OR direct me to a site to get detailed instructions to fix this problem. any help I can get will be greatly apperciated. THanks, RICH |

(Note: This in Win XP Home, might be different for Professional). There is an option in there that changes whether or not to use the Welcome screen. -- Long live my retired scince teacher, Lab 4 and his sin bin. -=Ricardo -==Da==- Avacardo=- |

Ricardo;
I tried that and that does NOTHING for the long DELAY, or hesitation. My computer boots up to the Windows XP Logo screen and then the monitor goes black for about 90 seconds then the Welcome screen comes and it then it continues to boot nornally. Turning off the Welcome screen does NOT remove thr pause or delay or hesition between the screens.
