Default folder views and tasks

I have several folders that contain nothing but image
files. In some of these folders the filmstrip view is
available and in others it is not. Also in the folders
without the filmstrip view, the "picture tasks" are
unavailable, so I am unable to print multiple images
directly from the folder. Any ideas as to why some
folders are able perform these tasks, and others not? I
have tried going into "folder options" but I found
nothing controlling this.
