I remember once seeing a tip somewhere (not 7 - either '98 or XP) on how
to change the colours of a BSOD from the default bright-white-on-blue. I
changed mine to orange or brown, I can't remember - much more restful. I
think it was probably 98 - I can't remember when I last had a BSOD on
this XP machine (it's certainly years, if ever), and so far I've not had
one on a 7 machine.

I don't remember the details of how to change the two colours, but it
wasn't complicated. May be different on later OSs.

Chemotherapy weakened my blood vessels, due to cancer I have had 2
arterial bypasses in my legs also, Thank heavens for our Canadian
medical system

Although not the BSOD, on XP and prior Windows
operating systems, loading the ansi.sys screen
driver in the c:\windows\system32\config.nt file and
making a few minor system changes enables you to
customize the default command prompt to display the
current date, time, drive and path; to display various
background/foreground screen and text colors with
certain attributes (blink, high-/low-intensity, etc.)

My favorite command prompt had a white row at the
top of the screen displaying the current drive/path
on the left side with the date and time displayed on
the right side. The screen background was blue with
the text being white, the actual command line was
changed from C: to simply a colon.

I designed a series of these custom prompts, saved
them in individual batch files, and would execute
different ones when I was in the mood for a change.

I used to have that too. I changed BSOD to RSOD, red seeming to me more
appropriate for the OS messing up. It was on one of the Win 9x versions.
I never found such capability for one of the later (NT) version of Windows.

BTW, I also remember a program that changed "recycle bin" to "toilet",
complete with flushing sound.

Yes, that happened to me too. Several years back I was in the ICU for
a heart condition when they used a nasal tube.

Recently, for no known cause I used to bleed through the nose, same
like you. Finally I was hospitalized and the surgeon said due to use
of the tube earlier the blood vessels were damaged to some extent and
failed after several years.

After cauterizing the blood flow stopped and in the last two years
this has not recurred.

Tube was of wrong diameter? Oh no.. that should be a medical
accident/malpractice?
