Hii, Install a good antivirus select ones below that shd remove all the
viruses and second check ur firewall if u are not on sp2 suggest upgrade it
equips with an good inbuilt firewall.

http://safety.live.com (online scanner)
www.windowsonecare.com (ms antivirus, firewall, backup included.)
www.freeav.com (avera antivir)
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx (windows
defender)

Since u are saying the infections are not being removed the best method to
clean out all the infection is to actually boot from a different os or set
ur hd as slave to clean it from a clean os with a good antivirus. this is
time consuming! and strain!

So to boot in dos if u hav a boot disk its great else if ur os is in ntfs
just use the windows cd to get to command prompt. now free av also has a dos
based scanner that uses the definations of regular install to clean. so its
just as effective and far better as since xp is not booted there is no scope
for virus to load to ur memory at startup.

Hope this helps..,

Next time please make a new post instead of interjecting yours into someone
else's thread. I say this not to hurt your feelings but to enable you and
the OP to both get quality help.

For your issue:

Your system is infected with a rogue antivirus program. It is called "rogue"
because it pretends to be A Good Guy but is really Evil. Do not pay them!

Because you didn't give me the name of the program that is trying to get you
to buy it, I can't point you to specific removal steps. Look for them he

If you are infected with XP Antivirus or Antivirus 209/10, here are removal
steps:

Removal instructions for Antivirus 2009:

These may work for you and all may be well. However, in many cases the
computer will also be infected with Zlob and/or Vundo trojans and protected
by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean.

If your machine is one of these cases, either get guided help at one of the
specialty forums below OR back up your data and do a clean install of
Windows. It is your choice. If you are unsure how to back up your data or
how to do a clean install, you can take your machine to a local computer
professional. I don't recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of
places.
