Default Half-screen when using an old DOS app in Win XP

Hi,

Is there a way to get an old DOS accounting program to display full-screen
in Windows XP? Right now, it shows up on the top half only. My guess is
that it might be video card related.

Thanks,

Jeff

I have run into this with old DOS programs too. In Windows XP the command
prompt/DOS session is given a larger number of screen rows. What you need to
do is change the screen dimansions for this DOS program back to 80x25 which
is the traditional standard.

With your program running, hit the Windows Logo key to take you back to the
desktop. Right-Click on the running program inthe taskbar and choose
"Properties". Click the "Layout" tab and change the "Screen Buffer Size" and
the "Window Size" to have a width of 80 and a height of 25. Click OK, tell it
to "Save properties for future windows with same title". Return to your
program and quit the program. Next time you run it, it should be "big" again.

Hope that helps.

Awesome! That works!

I know it's not that exciting, but this client wanted to connect her old
computer just to run this DOS application, then have a new computer for
everything else. This solution keeps her on one, new computer!

Thanks,

Jeff

The answer is kinda simple... Amazed noone else replied:

Open Window
Type Alt-Enter
(Hold Alt Key down, and then the enter key)
to get back, same key combo

That question was answered CORRECTLY 5 years ago. Your method is only a
temporary window view adjustment.
