Default XP Home Registration

My son hase given me his computer, as he is getting a new
one. I will use it to replace the machign that was
running WINDOWS 98. My question is how can I deal with
the registration situation. Am I allows to re-register
the system in my name without having problems ?

There is a documents and settings folder with his name on
it, that I cannot rename. Anything I create or install
is filed under that folder. Is that any way I can
personalize the computer for me ?

Try he
http://tinyurl.com/eedp

and he
http://tinyurl.com/eedq

Those will allow you to change the name/etc in the main programs on the PC.

Also - you need to use your son's (or the other Administrator account) to
create your OWN user..
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=279783
or
http://uslinux.ied.edu.hk/stffaq/6.21.html

BUT - create yourself a "Computer Administrator" account.. Not limited.
Then you need to log on using YOUR account, not your sons.. Now you both
have accounts and yours should have its own documents and settings, etc.
