Maybe the web page itself is not compatible with new features of IE11.

Try other pages unrelated to the first to see if they work.

Or maybe IE 11 is brain damaged.

Sorry, the web isn't wrong and Microsoft is right. Removing IE 11
updates from Windows 7 fixes a lot of problems. I just removed IE 11
updates and system is faster and the gadgets now work, as do the web
pages.

Microsoft clearly botched the last updates.

I am using Win7HE 64bit and I am not experiencing any problems since
installing IE-11 through Windows Update.
It installed fine and works fine and everything else is working just as
it did before installing IE-11.

Oh, it installs ok. Trouble is it messes up gadgets and burns CPU time.
Installing it corrects both issues.

And this is a common problem and Microsoft was utterly useless in
getting a solution...

Except for your legacy gadgets and some recalcitrant websites that haven't
caught up yet...
Chris

Never checked those 'gadgets' or 'recalcitrant' websites since I mainly use
FF.
My bad,

My gadgets seem undisturbed by the IE11 update. OTOH, I also use
Firefox, so I don't know about websites either.

But microsoft themselves say you shouldn't use gadgets or the sidebar
now as they are unsafe so no problem there.

Default IE 11

I am getting really frustrated. I just spent almost 2 days recovering from
trying to find a replacement on=line gadget replacement for the MS weather
gadget that IE11 changed and made almost unreadable/unusable. The search
and installation/uninstallation of a couple of Google found possibilities
ended up somehow disabling both IE11 and Google Chrome. Lost files or
something.

To get back the browser function of this 2 year old laptop I had to nuck it
back to the original factory configuration, install all of the updates back
from IE9, uninstall all of the crapware... Thought I had properly
disabled the reinstallation of IE11, but after part of the catch-up updates
gave me IE10 which is OK, today I got slammed with IE11, thereby screwing up
my weather gadget again and getting back to square 1. Damn, I am getting
really ticked!

Question: Is it possible/how can I uninstall IE11, get back to IE10, stay
there and not totally screw up again???

ASUS Laptop G53S. I7, 8Gig, 460M video, Win7-64.

It's possible, in Windows Update, to "block" certain updates.

When you see a new software announced for your platform, also
look for an announcement of how to block it. And then, once
you've done that, it won't be coming in on its own.

Example of a blocker.

I also wonder if Tom would be happier changing his Windows update
settings to "Check for updates but...", or "Download updates but...".

These choices let the user decide when to install, and give him a chance
to not install individual updates...

Control panel, System and Security, Windows Update, Change settings.

Thanks, Paul. You are the font. There is also a check box on the "About IE
10" display to uncheck and supposedly disable future auto updated of IE.
