Bypass User screen?
Widows7Pro64 I have bypassed the "password" screen and the "user" screen. Is there a way to also bypass the "welcome" screen so as to boot directly to the desktop? |

I thought we were dealing with this in another thread where we decided we could not help until some clarification was made as to what was meant since bypassing the login, user, and welcome screen is all a part of the same process of configuring Windows to automatically log in. So, not to put too fine of a point on it, what, *exactly*, do you mean by "bypass the "welcome" screen" that is not already accomplished by automatically logging in to Windows? -- Zaphod If I had two heads like you, Zaphod, I could have hours of fun banging them against a wall. -Ford Prefect |

The so-called "automatic login" by passes the need to use a password to log in (i.e. it by passes the "login screen". A second process using Winkey + R etc., provided a way to by pass the screen where a user is selected --the so called "user screen". When both processes have been implemented, one boots to a screen where we get the "Welcome" message. Once this has processed we get the desktop. My question is: is ther a way to also bypass watching the "welcom" bit so that the boot up process goes directly, with no other messages or whatever, to tghe desktop. |

Short answer: NO Long answer HELL NO The "Welcome" message is merely a "place holder" while the OS boots to your desktop. |

No. There are two types of logon processes. The Classic logon and the Welcome Screen logon process - even with the the username/pw requirement bypassed (by being pre-entered) the latter still needs to run to arrive at the desktop. - The Classic logon is the Win2K style that provides a dialog (network style) box to enter both the username and password Group policy has a Classic logon setting but that is only for the Classic logon. One can enable, disable or not configure the classic logon. Enable = Use the Classic logon Disable = Don't use Classic logon thus use the Welcome Screen Not Configured = Use the default (the Welcome Screen) |

The simplest method is to enable and use hibernation.
