Default Is PCmatic worth downloading?

In the last week they have been advertising PCmatic heavily on some of
our TV channels. I believe it is done by PITSTOP which were quite
reliable at one time,
Anyone have any Opinions on it
? Is it worth downloading?

No! Not even if it were free.

All such programs are nothing but snake oil, and are more likely to
cause problems than to solve them. Avoid them all like the plague.

About as useful as the telephone "cold calls" that say "we see that
your computer is having problems"........

Imo, that stuff is no different than the useless marketing dinner-time
phone call that informs the answerer...
"Hello this Rachel, there's nothing wrong with your credit card...."

anybody can advertise anything with the right amount of money.
that does not make it a "good" product.
I've seen stores sell freeware.

would you be interested in dirt cheap oceanfront property in Arizona?
if that were advertised on tv, there are people out there who would buy it.

Thanks for all the replies which confirmed my thoughts, And no I was not
planning on using it, Just more or less curious.
My system is running much too nicely to introduce some crap-ware into it.
It just seemed strange that all of a sudden there were so many adds run
for it, the only other program I see heavily advertised on TV is
"Rosetta Stone".

Regards, Rene

Rosetta Stone is expensive. They're hoping for a small number of
purchases, with a large profit margin on each one.

Whereas the PCmatic, hopes for lots of people paying a small amount
each.

In either case, if they can pay for TV adverts, there must
be a significant profit involved.

Now a Chia Pet, there's an investment.

The property I was selling was in Nevada, with the premise that on the next
tectonic shift, California would fall off into the sea, and . . . there's
the ocean! :-) Not my fault if it doesn't happen in the purchaser's
lifetime wink wink nudge nudge.

(Just kidding, of course.)

Having lived for too many decades now, my wife and I have come to a
realization:
Items that are advertised the most are usually the worst.

This applies to everything from computer programs to movies to health
care plans.

If it were actually good, would they really need to spend all that
money convincing people to buy it?

Just out of curiosity, since I know next to nothing about it. Have
you, or anyone else here, ever used Rosetta Stone? If so, what did you
think of it?

IIRC there used to be ocean-front property in Arizona.

It was around 60 or 70 megayears ago :-)

OK - I checked at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Interior_Seaway

1. It was the Cretaceous era, 145 to 66 megayears ago.

2. The map is dated July 23 in 99,997,987 BC :-) and shows the edge of
the sea just touching the NE corner of AZ (Four Corners), and so in fact
ocean-front property in Arizona would still be a scam :-)

Obviously there's nothing new under the sun...

I haven't used it, but a linguist friend of mine (now dead) said that
his friends in linguistics didn't think it was all that great.

For me, that was a bit sad - I've always been tempted by them.

It might be fun to learn a bit of Korean :-)
