Default NetBIOS name resolution failure

XP Community:

Through the help of this forum, I discovered the problem
listed above. In other words, my computers, both running
XP Professional cannot share a printer of files, but can
ping each other and themselves EXCEPT on a named basis.
Computer A can ping itself as Computer A but not Computer
B and vice versa. How does one resolve this issue? I
tried to reset TCP/IP and the problem persists. HELP

Which computer is providing name resolution? If neither are, hack your
hosts file and add the entries manually.

I've written a web page that should help you fix the problem:

Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP (NetBT)

Still receive the same error message:
Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
available

Start-Search
Select 'More Advances Options' and make sure that 'Search system folders',
Search hidden files and folders' and 'search subfolders'.

Start a search for the term 'hosts' (w/o the quotes).

Typically ist's installed in %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc

Open this file with notepad and enter the IP adderess and hostnames of the
computers you want to resolve.

Which file name in particular am I searching for?
Nothing showed up in the directory location specified.
Closest match was rsvp.ini. Need more detail.
