Where is the "default programs control panel" in W-7?
Where is the "default programs control panel" in W-7? I can't find it. I
Googled and came up empty handed. Loads of sites. I didn't find one saying where it was to be found. I did a search using Start/"search programs and files" and it was not found. TIA |

My husband found the "default programs control panel." Unfortunately WindowsMail is not listed as a choice. |

You could have found it in a quarter of the time it took you to type your post. All you had to do is click your mouse once. Like magic. If you don't know or have the answer, why reply and waste my time? I did know the answer. I looked it up in... get this: Windows's Help system. It took me one mouse click. Imagine that - Microsoft put all those cool answers right there on my computer, just a mouse-click away! It's almost like they anticipated that I might wonder how to do something! What will they think of next?!?! Never mind. My husband found the "default programs control panel." Hmmmm.... I wonder if, since he was looking for "default programs control panel," that maybe he looked in.... get this... Control Panel!!! Wow! What will they think of next?!?! Unfortunately WindowsMail is not listed as a choice. I'm not surprised. Windows Mail is not supported on that operating system. |

TIA You mean that when you typed default programs in the search bar on the start menu it didn't look like this: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/1443/20101025-ed8h-117kb If you're not seeing the same thing, then it's possible that your system is screwed up more than you originally though. Anyway my best advice to you is to switch your control panel from category view to using either the large or small icons. http://my.jetscreenshot.com/1443/20101025-lmqz-71kb Switching it to small icons (which I prefer) will let you see the default programs icon when you open your control panel. -- Roy Smith Windows 7 Professional Thunderbird 3.1.5 Monday, October 25, 2010 5:14:45 PM |

They aren't forcing you to do anything. In fact if you were to install Windows 7 form a retail DVD it does not have any email program on it whatsoever. If your PC came with WLM installed, then the PC manufacturer did it, not Microsoft. -- Roy Smith Windows 7 Professional Thunderbird 3.1.5 Monday, October 25, 2010 5:18:51 PM |
