Default B&N Nook books backup

Is there a way to back up the books one purchases from a B&N Nook to a
PC hard drive?

I would assume there would be some conversion form the Android format to
the PC Format.

I also understand the NOOK uses a EPub format for its book, and they can
be converted to a PDF or similar PC format.

Any help would be appreciated, my wife has over a thousand books on her
NOOK.

"BN has as of may - June 2019 further encrypted their books and
have apparently created a data base you cannot decrypt.

are you familiar with this process?

do you have any solutions to allow us to download nook books?"

Thank you for using Epubor software. Yes, the Nook tab has been removed
because the Nook books have been encrypted with new DRM scheme. This is
no way to crack it for now. We are sincerely sorry for this issue, but
our team is working on this new DRM. Once this DRM has been cracked,
we will let you know, ok?"

And I thought only Google deprecated product :-/

I would say:

1) set up a camera
2) press the Next Page button a million times
3) Glue all the pictures together to make books.

Now ask me why I never "rent" content.

I think you were supposed to start the recovery process
about four or five years ago. It's a bit late now, by
the looks of it. At least in terms of support for their
first hardware reader product.

You're not going to lack for a hobby this year.
You're about to become a DRM/cryptography expert.

And the thing is, those .epub versions weren't cheap.
The savings were "reaped" by the vendor, not the user.

I have Kobo rather than Nook, but first I'd look to see if Calibre can
help, as of last year it seems the de-DRM plugin couldn't handle Nook,
but there seems to be paid software that can, maybe look at the trial
version?

Oh yea, that's a good one alright! sarcasm not seen
You have to give some company your username and password to Nook so they
can create a key to decrypt your books. Yea, right!

And I found a comment that one no longer works (the epubor one).
I copied that into my previous post.

At one time (apparently), you could view this content in
a web browser (your thousand books), which would give you access
to the files without allowing them to add more crypto after
the fact. But that might not be working any more, with the
change of ownership and so on. You have to be an
archaeologist as well as a computer operator, to
get your stuff.

It's like going to the gas station and discovering
they no longer sell gas.

I took it to mean if you want to avoid the $15 software cost...
