Default SP2??

How do you get from a dislike of automatic updates to assuming the poster
doesn't maintain her computer?
Do all you MVP types have divine powers?

"Jupiter Jones [MVP]"

Mary Alice;

Why do you think it is unnecessary to maintain your computer?

They also do not have any obligation to promote any Microsoft product
or patch.

So I guess all the MVPs in here get paid to do this?

Totally voluntary

Many of them get an all expense paid annual trip to Redmond to rub shoulders
with their heroes and pick up a few trinkets from the manufactures
warehouse.

That seems to enough for some people to return here and make fools of
themselves.

But we have seen multiple posters here swearing that they have
personally witnessed that SP2 is the greatest advance in computing

Actually I'd like to see what it is that they have seen.

Sigh. Seen?

MVPs do not get paid.
Everything an MVP does is completely voluntary:

Divine powers not necessary, basic reading is.
Did you read Mary Alice post?
Apparently not.

How about the first line?
"Preparation my Axx!!"

How about the last two lines?
"Automatic Update implies, they would have NO idea that preparation,
of any sort/kind, was not only recommended but demanded prior to sp2
install."

She wrote about preparation.
Whether you see it or not, it is still there.

Again - How do you get from the poster speaking to the sad state of
automatic updates to her personal computer(s) not being maintained.

Unlike MVPs, some in the world don't function in a perpetual first person
mode.

Read the posts again...for the first time.

Also your insults show your own character flaws as well as your
insecurity with your point of view.

Yes, Seen. You can scan the postings as well as I if you like.
There have been postings from people claiming how fantastically
great the new SP2 is. I think I'm looking at the same SP2 that
they are. There are (almost certainly) completely invisible fixes
for a thousand or more bugs. A few defaults have changed values.
Support for a few things is now integrated, rather than mfgr add-on.
A few features now require extra steps to get it to do what it was
doing before. But I have not Seen anything I can imagine that
these people posting claims about how great it is must have Seen.
Unless, of course, they are just operating with their own agenda.
