Can't rid system of bad password for log on ??

I tried it without success. Will continue to read the posted articles. Another diagnostic I thought of: enable logging. In the Phone and Modem applet in Control Panel, under the Modems tab panel, select your modem and click Properties. Under the Diagnostics tab panel, enable "Append to log". You can click the View Log button to see if there is any old stuff in an existing logfile (just erase it all and close/save the logfile). Then attempt the connection which results in an error. Maybe something will pop up in the logfile to tell you what is going wrong. -- __________________________________________________ __________ *** Post replies to newsgroup. Can't rid system of bad password for log on ??
In article , "EJ"
wrote: When I click on my INternet explorer to connect to web through the default connnection, there is a bad password saved in that window. I can delete the bad connection only to have it reappear on the next boot up. How can I rid my system of that bad passw ord/connection error? How do you know that it's a bad password? Windows XP always displays the same number of characters for a dial-up password, regardless of the password's actual length. Try connecting and see if it works. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. if all else fails, you could try deleting that connection
and creating it again from scratch. -----Original Message----- I tried it without success. Will continue to read the posted articles. . |
