Default New monitor

My old main monitor is getting elderly. I need a new one. I’m thinking of
getting something in the 27 to 35 inch range (40” will be too large for
where my monitor is, and I don’t want to move my entire setup). I need at
least three HDMI (or two HDMI and a DVI or Display Port) ports. More ports
would be a plus. Headset ports, either dual 3.5mm ports or USB, would be
nice. It should be at least 1920x1080, higher res would be nice. I don’t
care about curved/not curved, either is good. I don’t care about bezel
size. I don’t care about VESA. I do care, deeply, about good colour
response, and those three ports, as the monitor must talk to three machines.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a HP Pavilion 25xi monitor, and am very pleased as the color
reproduction is excellent. My wife is a artist (Landscapes), and uses
it for reference photographs. The color reproduction satisfies her
ability to distinguish the various hues and intensities of color.

Like you the 25" monitor is as large as our computer cabinet will hold.

While I don't think it has all of the ports you mentioned, It does have
DVI-D,HDMI, VGA. I use the HDMI.

It is full HD (1080p) 1920X1080
Contrast ratio 1000:1 with a dynamic ratio of 10000000 to one
LED Backlight 96lKz

The 3 HDMI and display port options are rather scarce, most have one
each plus DVI or Old VGA.
but after a quick search I did find one, I' m sure with more searching
you will find others.
27 Inch is a good size, for me I have an Asus 27 inch IPS and the color
is great, but you need the extra ports.

2560x1440 27"
Dell U2715H, no doubt they don't make them any more, but probably have a
replacement

I used to use an HDMI switch with 3 inputs and 1 output. It auto-selected
the input when it sensed an active signal but it also has a button you can
press to select a specific input when two or more inputs are live. I don't
use it at the moment but it worked very well and it would remove the
requirement to have multiple inputs on the monitor itself, thus greatly
expanding the possibilities.

I suspect you will be able to have a broader range of economical choices
with less restrictions of what needs to 'come with' the monitor.

There are HDMI switches which are very economical. I bought one w/ 3
inputs for a TV I have which only has one HDMI. I think it only cost
about $10.

If you want to be able to control the HDMI input remotely, that can also
be done w/ or w/o the multi-HDMI being built in.

I got one last year. After checking with a site that's
been rating them for years, I ended up with the top
pick for budget. Dell IPS 27" P2719H. I'm very happy
with it. I think it was $200 at Microcenter.

IPS is critical if you do anything with color.

Micro Center really is about as cool a store as it gets. The one here
occupies a space that was once CompUSA. Big improvement.

I would get to see some new one working.
Mine has trouble displaying the fine/faint lines in Goggle search
boxes and in Bitorrent.

Assuming it's legitimate, no reason to believe otherwise, Yeah
"greatly expanding the possibilities" would be an understatement.

The monitor doesn't "talk" it just listens.

Is your monitor running native resolution, with 100% normal size ?

If you're running at 150%, try switching up to 200% and see what
that looks like for a moment.

It would help if they made better color choices for these things.
Or even if a line was made two pixels wide, instead of one pixel wide.

Paul
