Help!...locked out of my computer
Did you find an answer? My laptop was stolen, I recovered
it, but now I cannot get past the power on login. Any Ideas? Thanks -----Original Message----- 6 months using XP (home) and not one problem. Yesterday I ok'd a microsoft "install updates" to my computer and after booting up today I find myself locked out. Normally I logged in w/o the computer ever asking for a password, now it asks me for a password and won't boot to the desktop without one. Trying to click past the request or pressing enter doesn't work...I'm locked out. Something in the MS upgrade screwed me, and since I'm using a dealer copy, microsft won't support it. Any suggestions?? . |

Help!...locked out of my computer
Ken;
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;321305 Or Reboot to Safe Mode, select Administrator, leave password blank. Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel. Select the user and change the password. Here are other options: http://www.wininternals.com/products...very/index.asp http://www.sunbelt-software.com/prod...&affid=wxpnews Since it was stolen and now recovered, I would suggest a Clean Installation. A Clean Installation will remove any corruption, spyware etc the thief left for you. -- Jupiter Jones Check the following link for some great problem solving newsgroups. http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx Please respond to newsgroup only.
