Auto sign in
I've got Windows xp home and apparently windows messenger
4.7 and I've turned off the auto sign in because I only use it on specific dates and times. It will not sign when I open an internet window (that is good) however it will automatically sign in when I go to check my email in Outlook. (that is bad). I don't want to run messenger unless I sign it in myself. Please help me with this problem. Thank you Charlene |

Auto sign in
Xref: 127.0.0.1 microsoft.public.windowsxp.messenger:37915
Greetings Charlene, To stop this from happening, just disable Messenger support in Outlook. For Outlook (XP/2002), just open Outlook, click the Tools menu, then Options, then the Other tab, and uncheck 'Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook'. For Outlook Express, close Outlook Express, and run this .reg file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...ssenger_oe.reg You'll need to restart Outlook Express to see the change. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Charlene B" wrote in message ...
