Default boot stops on F1 continue message

What could be causing XP to stop on this message every startup?
As soon as I click on F1, it resumes and finishes like normal.

Thanks,

dancer

Nothing whatsover to do with Windows as that message appears before Windows
even begins loading. Suggest you RTFM that came with the computer or contact
the computer manufacturer.

Hi,

Your BIOS is doing that, you may have a dead CMOS battery, or it may be set
to pause the boot. It has nothing to do with XP.

Try setting your BIOS to their defaults and see if it clears it up before
doing the battery, its quicker.

That is not advisable these days with SATA and PATA drives, etc. He might
not be able to boot.
