Edge - Printing Headers and Footers
My wife uses Edge. How can she set printing so that it prints headers and
footers every time, without haveing to make that setting each time? Currently, it keeps going back to prining neither. That is, you have to set it to print headers and footers for each print send. TIA |

Found this half-way down page two of this article: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...ps_windows_10- msedge/how-to-change-default-print-settings-in-edge/90c1bddb-5e9e-48c8- 92b1-03e64a1a8d98 "The root problem is that Windows 10 has two different printing APIs. One is the traditional one that came from Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 which has defaults available in the control panel that affect all programs which use that API (like IE). The other interface is the Modern/Metro UI API which does not seem to have anyway to configure defaults. Edge uses that API so we are stuck. Microsoft has a lot of issues like this in Windows 10. This is a big one but others include: inabililty to set WIFI connection order preference in the GUI (have to use netsh from command line); functions that have moved from control panel to settings have no right click short cuts (so desktop users are punished for loyalty for the benefit of a much lower tablet and phone user base); the auto connect to networks feature is frustrating for apartment dwellers who end up getting connected to neighbors open WIFI networks by mistake (again, have to use netsh to block networks); Windows Update sucks in Windows 10 - no way around it. I'm a loyal Microsoft guy but am well familiar with Mac and Linux. The tipping point may be coming for me to make a switch if MS can't address these core functions. Grandma may not care but the power users who can be the biggest free source of marketing for Windows do." |
