And should I have let the bigger older desktop.ini copy into the new
drive?

(I figured if I overlaid the one that was there, I'd be stuck, so I'd
rather do that later. The option to rename the second one wasn't
offered then and I'm pretty sure it wsnt' offered at the start.)

----------------
I'm copying one flashdrive to another, 3 gigs or so, The second drive
has never been used before.

It's 99% done when it says 2 files are duplicates.

One file whose name I forget is about 12 bytes, both of them, but the
other is desktop.ini.

It's about 50 bytes on the new flashdrive and about 450 on the old one.

I can't decide which. I don't know what the purpose of desktop.ini
is.

So I figure I'll look at them, but I can't find either of them.

So I don't copy over the bigger one and figure I'll look at them after
it finishes, but I still can't find them,. There are no .ini files at
all on either drive.

Yes, I'm set up to show system files, hidden files, Bolivian files,
everything. Desktop.ini shows on my desktop, which iirc proves I have
that file set to show.

So what gives.

Using WHAT to do the copy? If File Explorer, you would need to have
system-protected files not hidden so you could see them to select them
to include copying the desktop.ini file. If you are using something
else then it is including the system-protect files in the copy. Do you
need system-protected files to get copied?
