Tried using the free cd and I get this message
This service pack cannot be installed on top of the windows XP service pack2
build currently installed on your computer. Cancel this installation process,
uninstall your current windows XP service pack 2 build, then re-install this
service pack.
The only problem is I can't uninstall this SP2 as there is nowhere for it to
b uninstalled from. I've tried add/remove programs and there is no reference
to it there.

John;
Exactly what does the CD have written on it?
Did you or anyone else ever attempt to install a Beta or other pre-release
version of SP-2?
