Default Can't start Windows Firewall

I can't get the firewall to run, followed all the relevant threads, tried all
the methods suggested ie, thru services.msc., cmd.exe etc
1. services. msc. - Could not start Windows Firewall/Internet Connection
Sharing (ICS) service on Local Computer. Error1075: The dependancy service
does not exist or has been marked for deletion.
2. cmd.exe - Could not obtain information from machine. Some commands may
not be available. Class not registered. - still rebooted machine as per
instructions to no avail.
3. Also tried winsockxpfix with no result.
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

This service depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. If its not started, or is disabled, then the Firewall/ICS service cannot start. The RPC Service default settings are Started and Automatic.

Hi Doug, the RPC service is running ok, however when i try to start Security
Center or Windows Firewall i get an Error 1075 message as in the original
question.
Thanks for replying but it's not the issue that i apparently have.

Default Can't start Windows Firewall

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Double click Add or Remove Programs
3. Click Add/Remove Windows Componets
4. Scroll down to Management and Monitoring Tools and check the box
5. Click Next
6. Open Security Center or Windows Firewall or go to Services and start
the services.

This should work.
