Default XP Updates?

Hi Paul,

I went into tools and changed it as you
suggested:

My only question now is do I trust Avast to
update any of these programs when I enable it
occasionally and find a program that needs
updating?

Thanks,
Robert

I would:

1) Look at the list Avast presents.
2) Run the updates from the individual programs.
For example, use the Flash control panel, use the
Check For Updates button, that sort of thing.

Use Avast as a "hint" some program needs updating,
but look into it yourself.

The table at the bottom of this page, tells
you what the current version of Flash is.

Avast | Tools | Grimefighter | Settings | uncheck the "Always check..."
box.

I should have done this before I posted; I
did a little research:

https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=143373.0

Then went into Settings Tools Grimefighter
customize and unchecked 'Always test this computer
for Grime' as Nil suggested.

Istart123.com looks like a legitimate website that offers you the search function as what Google and Bing do. However, it is classified as a browser hijacker which can mess up your browser settings and generate a series of problems.
It's highly advised that you follow the video below to get rid of this threat.
