Sol You might want to consider using Thunderbird as it has a much greater storage capability, has a junk filter, compacts automatically and corrects spelling as you type. When you install Thunderbird, it will ask you if you want to import from OE. Get it free at http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird. M |

Do you want to backup your e-mails or simply move the store folder? Hopefully, this page will help you with whatever it is you hope to accomplish: http://www.insideoe.com/backup/ Although, the method outlined here is a bit involved, it is worth checking out: http://www.insideoe.com/backup/clone.htm Note that in Step 2 of the Preparation section, you may create *one* location for all your Outlook Express files and registry keys (including your address book and your message store) and call the folder "My Outlook Express Identity." |

Wherever they are, they will be the same size!
Do you perhaps wish to create an archive? If so, here is one way to that: http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/tips/archiving.htm Here's another: http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/...al.htm#folders Note that if you have multiple folders, you can create a new identity called "Archive Identity." How large is your message store currently? As long as you make sure your Inbox and Sent folders don't get too large, everything should be fine. Just create new folders within Outlook Express and move those e-mails to their new locations. Then empty the Deleted Items folder and compact everything: http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/...hy.htm#compact This way, there wouldn't even be a need to move any e-mails "out of Outlook Express." And if you are indeed interested in archiving older e-mails, just see the links above. S1L1Y1 wrote: Thank You for the reply. I want to move them out of Outlook Express so that it will not be so big. Sol About all you can do is select as many as possible and drag them to a folder. To select, you can... 1. Press Ctrl + A to select all messages within a given OE "folder" 2. Press Ctrl and select multiple messages by clicking on each (while pressing Ctrl) 3. Press Shift to select a range of messages by clicking on 1st then last (or vice versa) They will wind up in the folder as individual files, not all hooked together in a dbx file. Clicking on any will open it in OE. -- dadiOH ____________________________ dadiOH's dandies v3.06... ....a help file of info about MP3s, recording from LP/cassette and tips & tricks on this and that.
