Where do I find 'Remember each folder's View settings in Windows 7?
In XP:
Folder OptionsViewRemember each folder's View settings. Can't find that in W7. It's very irritating that when opening a folder, which shows 1 row of folders and the preview pane. I then pull the divider across to see more folders (which is a fiddle in itself!) to set up the page the way I like it. On re-opening, the settings have reverted to the single line of folders. It doesn't appear to remember the previous settings. Where can I set this up so it stays like that? Grenou |

It's the setting: 'Remember each folder's View' that's missing. If anyone know where it's hiding, I'd be grateful if they could tell me, I can't find it. Grenou |

So if you chang one you change the lot but I think I read that you turn of global Setting's somewhere My aim is to have the folders taking up half the monitor space (I have a 22" monitor) and displaying 3 folders across, plus a bit of preview pane. Haven't achieved that. As soon as it looks right and I close the folder it reverts back to a view I don't want. As there is no setting 'Remember each folder's view', it's never going to happen. It is a lot easier in XP. So much for 'improvement'. Thanks for trying Trev :-) Grenou |

Another Reason Why Microsoft Doesnot want to Create its own newsgroup for win7. Wants Web based so it can controll the information it contains . |
