Greetings --

The instructions will be in the manual that came with the laptop,
assuming it has the capability.

The laptop needs a video card with TV Out plugs. If you don't have that,
you won't be watching television from the laptop.

It depends on what type of input connection your TV will accept.

If the TV has an s-video input, simply connect the two via a long s-video
cable.
If the TV has a single RCA video input jack (and 2 more RCA audio input
jacks), get an adapter from Radio Shack for s-video plug to RCA jack. The
adapter will be very short, so you will need an RCA to RCA extension cord.
Also get a cable to go from the audio line out on your laptop (1/8" stereo
mini plug - look at Walkman headphones) to the "Audio in" jacks on the TV,
which will be 2 RCA plugs (left & right).
