Default Laptop function keys don't always work under windows xp

Hi,

Do you know where to download the Xp utilities from Dell?
I did download the latest drivers for my system from
Dell's website (video, mouse/trackpoint, bios) and got the
latest drivers for my sound card from the manuf
website....still doesn't work, it did a couple times then
after I rebooted it wouldn't. Is there a key combination
to se to activate it or is this a XP problem?

Thanks,
Eric

I recently bought a used Dell CPX-H500GT laptop

computer,
and installed Windows XP Home edition without a

problem.
Once I tried to use the function key on my laptop, some
commands work and others don't.

Functions that work:
CD-ROM eject (FN+F10)
Suspend (FN+ESC)
CRT/LCD (FN+F8)
Scroll Lk (FN+Num Lk)

Functions that don't work or work somtimes:
Volume up (FN+Page Up)
Volume down (FN+Page Dn)
Mute (FN+End)
Setup (FN+F1)

It wouldn't be a big deal, but the Dell CPX series does
not have an external volume control. The only way I can
control it is through the volume settings in windows, or
through the function keys. Please help!

Thanks in advance!
Eric
