Default USB Printing Support

I recently installed a new motherboard and XP. When
connecting my DeskJet 970 CSE using USB to the PC,
everything works fine. However, upon restarting, reboot
is slow and I get a ! next to my USB Printing Support
with the following message under device status:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware
because there is a duplicate device already running in
the system. (Code 42)

Any advice?

I suspect that you have to be sure that you have installed things according
to HP's rules. You could try removing all HP software and then remove the
printer and then disconnect it from the computer. Install the HP software
and switch the computer OFF. Connect the printer and then switch ON the
computer and XP should find and install the printer and driver. ( this
should be the XP driver from HP which you have down loaded to disk )
