Default Error message and unknown file

Two questions:

1. I keep getting a message that says ,"Error loading: C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Paretologic\UU2.dll specified mode nodule could not be
found. Can anyone tell me what this means and if there is a way to fix it
please?

2. I just installed an external disk (WD 320GB Passport Essential USB 2.0
Portable disk) and when I loaded it onto my computer and go to the external
disk, there are mostly files that begin with a number and then end with dml,
such as 91.dml. Can someone tell me what these files are and how do I access
them (if I need to access them). Also, whenever I make a new graphic, I
automatically save it in the external drive, but then when I go to retrieve
it in my PSP X2, I can't find it.

Would definitely appreciate any help/explanation of these questions.

Thanks,

Paula

You most likely have installed and uninstalled this software. When
removing the startup item has not been rmoved but UU2.dll has. You can
use Autoruns to locate and remove the startup item.
http://www.paretologic.com/

To identify what loads when you boot use Autoruns (freeware from
Microsoft).
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Autoruns.mspx

With Autoruns you can uncheck an item, which disables it from
starting,or you can right click an item and then delete it. If you
uncheck you can recheck to re-enable the item. It is a much safer
approach than editing the Registry and better than using msconfig..
Another useful feature of the programme is that you can right click an
item and select Search Online to get information about the item
selected.

In Window Explorer right click on a dml file and select properties. You
should get clues as to the source. Otherwise the next link may help.

Gerry,

I ran this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Autoruns.mspx
and I have absolutely no way of making heads or tails out of the information
it gave me - I simply don't know what to do with it at this point.

Also when I ran this: http://www.paretologic.com/

it showed that I still had rootkit in one of my temporary files but the site
wanted payment in order to clean it and I simply don't have any money left to
pay for anymore protection for my computer (I have $10 to last me the rest of
the momth).

I will try to run mcro trend again and see if it picks it up; if it doesn't
I don't know what to do.

Thanks,

One of the columns in Autoruns is Image Path. Selecting the "Everything"
tab scan down the Image Path column and you should find "C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Paretologic\UU2.dll". Disable the item and restart
the computer. It should stop the error. However, whenever making changes
you should monitor the system for a day or so to make sure there are no
adverse affects. If there were you can easily reverse the change.

Hi Paula,

It's left over from a program you had on the computer that has now being
uninstalled.

Try this;

A task has been left behind by the Paretologic Program in the task manager's
files that is responsible for this annoying error..to fix ..go to START
...ACCESSORIES .. SYSTEM TOOLS ..click on ..SCHEDULE TASKS and delete any
tasks that concern Paretologic.
