Default restore help please

so i have a huge feeling i have some sort of virus on my computer..i tried a
system restore but it has no previouse dates to restore from, i really need
to restore my computer but i have no idea how to pick a date previouse from
todays(01-11-10)
someone please help me i don't want the virus to spread any further

If no other dates show for a "restore" point,then why not run anti-virus
software & eliminate the virus....Otherwise,you dont mention what the
specific problem is,but you might open event-viewer & see what the OS
has been up to,or lack of.If no anti-virus software exists,start with a scan
from windows defender,it may show a problem(s),get that he

System Restore cannot remove a virus infection.

If you suspect that your system is infected by malware, and you do not
think of yourself as technically proficient, by all means show your
computer to a professional as soon as possible.

If you have confidence in your technical abilities, we can suggest
several software programs that will scan your computer and /might/ be
able to remove the infection(s). No guarantees.

If you are talking about Windows System Restore, that won't help you get
rid of the virus (or whatever other form of malware your PC may be
infected with).

You need to get rid of the malwa
