Default How do I get both a speaker and mic volume control up on screen at the same time.

Running audacity and I am constantly fighting to either hear or record.

I have to keep fiddling with Control Panel Sounds.

I have the speaker icon in the tray but it seems to disappear from time
to time and only allows me seeing either speaker or mic but not both.
I did check the box to have that icon in the tray.

Advanced Controls is grayed out.

Some other app to work better ?

That looks like a hardware issue.
