Default Get error message when I put a % in conversation

No matter who the contact is, when I put "%" in the conversation it returns
"The following message could not be delivered to all recipients." Take out
percent sign and it goes through with no problem. Try sending a message with
just the % and it will not go through. I have not tested other characters
this is just one that we use often that I know we can't. We are using Windows
Messenger 5.1, so we can use SIP communication Service.

Is there a reason why we are getting this error?
Is there a why to fix this?
Do you have a list of characters that can't be used in a conversation?

We are still having this problem, Does anybody know a solution to this or why
it is doing this?

Is anybody else having this same problem, or is it just us?
