Default MSN and Hotmail cannot be connected at the same time

Wondering whats going on. Does somebody knows if there is a setting
somewhere preventing to be able to connect to hotmail AND Messenger at the
same time? When i log to messenger, all works fine. From Messenger, when
click on the top right corner to get my email on hotmail an internet
explorer window opens and display my hotmail account. But after few
seconds, since im connected to hotmail, my messenger connection get lost!
I've tried with another login (the one of my friend) and all works fine.
Same internet connection, same router, same computer just the login ID has
changed!!! Therefore, something is wrong with my ID!!! cannot find what!
Please if you can help me, i would appreciate... Thanks!

Greetings Bob,

Hotmail now has its own Messenger client (so you'll get logged in twice), but only the latest
version of Messenger (2009) allows you to sign into multiple places at once.

So I'm guessing you've trigged Messenger to automatically sign in when you go to Hotmail. If
this is the case, the next time you head into Hotmail, click the Messenger icon in the
top-right of the screen (it should say "Available"), and choose Sign out from Messenger
(Web). Alternatively you could just upgrade your client version to Windows Live Messenger
2009 from http://download.live.com.
