Default Selective start: Essential services for networking

I need to set a selective start with msconfig to replicate the
conditions of a safe mode with network support, without being in safe mode.
The point is to be able to start enabling all the other services untill
I find the offending service that's causing me some problems.
What are the essential network services that I should keep running in
order to have a working internet connections?

Good question.
o I do _not_ know the answer.

My suggestion though, is 1st to run a survey of what you _do_ have running.
o Here's an excerpt from what I do, pasted from my log files...

=== cut below for my log file of steps ===
dir c:\*.* /s/a/l/on/b C:\data\sys\filesys\20200815salonb.txt
ipconfig C:\data\sys\ipconfig\20200815ipconfig.txt
netsh int ip show route
C:\data\sys\route\20200815netsh_int_ip_show_route. txt
route print c:\data\sys\route\20200815routeprt.txt
net start c:\data\sys\service\20200815net_start.txt

WIP: Which services do we turn off nowadays?
Win+R msconfig System Configuration Services (tab)
uncheck services not needed
services.msc action export list
Text (Tab Delimited) (*.txt)
c:\data\sys\service\20200815services_msc.txt
Text (Comma Delimited) (*.csv)
c:\data\sys\service\20200815services_msc.csv

=== cut above for my log file of steps ===

If/when you figure out which are the "essential" services,
please do let us know as was in my "work in progress"
bucket for decades waiting for me to get a round tuit.

Can you not just start in safe mode with networking and make note of the
services that are running and then use msconfig to design a selective start
with these services enabled? I have not tried but seems like it might be
possible.
