From time to time you may want to work in command prompt but the default background is so bad that you can strain your eyes especially if you are an octogenarian!!! However, there is a very simple solution which nobody seems to know it or if they knew it they have forgotten. The technique was first implemented in the bad old days of DOS - at least that is what I am told by some old people. OK so in Windows 10 and I assume it also works in prior versions, you need to go to the command prompt (type/run cmd or right-click open cmd prompt - whatever) then just type something like this: color 1e You get something like this: https://i.imgur.com/RpeeBbx.png https://i.imgur.com/RpeeBbx.png First number is the Background and second number is foreground. The picture gives you all the available options/color codes. Good luck and pass this message to your good friend SteveGG who is completely mentally deranged. -- With over 500 million devices now running Windows 10, customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows. |

With Xfce4, I use this to set background colors, text colors, cursor color. https://s1.postimg.org/7dnbhh1mhr/terminal.png The Appearance tab has options for solid background, transparent background, or an image, and a slider to set transparency level. |

What is amazing is that you are so stupid that you don't have self-pride in your self and all you do is stealing somebody's nym and making erroneous posts on public newsgroups and forums. You don't have the ability to reinvent yourself and it is shocking considering education is almost free these days in most civilised countries. Were your parents stupid like you or are you a product of single parent who was working as a street prostitute? If you prefer a *Red Screen Of Death* with white text, or any other color combination that is easier for you to see: 1. Open %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM.INI in Notepad.exe. 2. Locate the \[386enh\] section. 3. If the MessageBackColor= and MessageTextColor= entries are present, change them. Otherwise, add them to the end of the section. To have a Red screen with White text, use: MessageBackColor=4 MessageTextColor=F Using the following codes (case is important): 0 = black 1 = blue 2 = green 3 = cyan 4 = red 5 = magenta 6 = brown 7 = white 8 = gray 9 = bright blue A = bright green B = bright cyan C = bright red D = bright magenta E = bright yellow F = bright white 4. Save the changes to the %SystemRoot%\SYSTEM.INI file. 5. Shutdown and restart your computer!!! Now wait, here it comes!!! |
