Don't see Windows 8.1 update?
Hello.
How do I download Windows 8.1 from Windows Updates? I do not see it. I have all the updates too. When I bought my $39.95 copy of Windows 8.0 Pro for download, I kept my purchase details. You can do downloads multiple times. What you do today, is pretend to download 8.0, then abort the download just after it starts, and using the credentials stored on your PC, then download Windows 8.1. http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/wi...-8-product-key There are things called "install-only keys", which will not activate an OS, but can be used long enough to install. Then, you can use slmgr to change to the Windows 8.0 key. I didn't read all the comments in the comment section of the above page, but there should be some procedure out there now that avoids the App Store method. I still haven't been to the App Store. I don't have my bookmarks file on this machine, so it's hard to dig up more links. My main machine is in Linux right now, copying a disk. The whole point of doing it this way, is to avoid a Microsoft Account. My W8 install uses a local account, and eventually when I do the Windows 8.1 update it will stay that way. I recommend a backup before you proceed, just so you can get things the way you want them. Paul |

It might be listed there too (you need your product key handy). I don't logon with the MS password, but some Metro apps ask you for it once and they remember. And thus I am always allowed in even if I am just logged in with just a Windows logon password.
