Default [OT] Kremlin Blocks VPNs

Well, not exactly.

According to today's London Times, "a new law restricting software
used to surf the internet anonymously has come into effect in Russia as part
of a wider clampdown on on-line freedoms".

At first glance I though that could be good. Hate trolls could be
identified. Then I realised that I had not read it properly or considered
the full implications.

Well, I really don't know enough to work out whether it is good or bad.

Opinions everyone?
