They show a dark picture on the right,
just below the synopsis.

it's hard to make anything out. And it
doesn't seem to follow any of the normal
conventions. Maybe this is a candidate for
"GUI of the Year" or something ?

Have you got Cortana or some search box on your taskbar? Why don't you
use it? What's wrong with you.

Just type "Recorder" in it and see what turns out.

You really need to learn to be self sufficient. nutters here will deter
you from using Windows 10 when it is one of the best Operating systems
around. It has created more jobs than any of the competitive products
put together. They are all hanging around here because nobody wants to
employ them.

It's not in any menu and it isn't going to be found with a non-existent
search since they're all non existent.

Doesn't anyone know where the voice recorder executable is?

There is no voice recorder in any menu.

There isn't even a search or the Windows store thing.

All I'm asking is the *location* of the voice recorder app.
Not a menu or shortcut to it that clearly doesn't exist.

I didn't set this PC up, it was given to me, but it *never* had a search
and that's OK because I never needed it before. I've been using this
computer for about two years now and never needed to use Search which isn't
on the menu anyway.

I just want to know if someone, anyone, simply knows where the voice
recorder *executable* lies.

Not a non-existent link to it.
Not a non-existent search for it.
The actual executable.

I found it by using a search box which says:
(search programs and files). We move on !!

Doesn't anyone know where the voice recorder executable is?

I found four copies of the executable. Here is a picture of one of
the locations: https://imgur.com/a/EMOae

If you had not installed Classic Shell, it would be there ...

Because it's a "universal" app it just shows up wrapped by
ApplicationFrameworkHost.exe so I don't know how you would invoke it
directly.

Can you not use something like Alt-Win or Ctrl-Win to see the real start
menu?
