X Sub You should first run the Windows Upgrade Adviser to make sure the computer will even run Win 7. If the answer is yes you can do a clean install. At some point in the installation process you will be asked to insert a legal copy of XP or Vista into the CD drive for confirmation that you qualify for the upgrade. Have you decided what to do about backup drives? -- "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." Win 7 Upgrades do not ask for a CD/DVD for confirmation but rather look for an already activated OS that meets the criteria. However, you can still do a clean install using upgrade media: http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/clean_install_upgrade_media.asp Have you decided what to do about backup drives? -- "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." That's interesting and a change that I was unaware of. In the case of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 I had to enter a valid SN for DW8. -- "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." X Sub as mentioned by the others ...yes but I'm not sure you'd want to install Win7 on an older machine... you really need some pretty new H/W for it to run right... and that's assuming you can even get drivers for your older H/W |
