Windows 8 Updates
I have Win8 Pro 64-bit (updated from Win7 HP 64-bit) on my Acer Aspire
V3-731, and have my Windows Update set to notify me of available updates, not to install them automatically. Unfortunately, I never see any notice that WAU is doing anything, other than a quick flash at the login screen (I also have my system set to automatically log me in, so if I'm out of the room, I don't see that quick flash). I also boot directly to desktop, bypassing the MUI. Is there any way to have Win8 notify me of available updates like earlier versions of Windows did? Little icon in the notification area? Maybe even a pop-up telling me I have updates ready to download and install? -- SC Tom
