Both insider machines are set to the fast ring. The one with an MS login downloads new builds; the one with a local login and that I haven't "fixed" has stayed on 10240, but has received updates which presumably match the released build. If it stays like this, I'll be happy. Of course I have moved all the main working machines back to W7 or Linux. I still get really annoyed by the disappearing scroll bars, and they remain my ultimate killer of W10. -- Bill |

Preview machines (machine without MSA, not registered as an insider), the license could well expire Oct.1st. So there's about 11 days or so left on the license. Paul |

I log in with my MS login, and have most things left at default except for "Notify to schedule restart" and "Other MS products" unchecked in Advanced Options of Windows Update. I'd change it to Fast except I got burned on earlier build updates while testing. Granted, this laptop is used mainly for play and video streaming, but still . . . I really don't want to go through all that again. Not a big deal with the images I have, but still aggravating. -- SC Tom |

th2_release Professional 10547 th2_release Professional 10547 downloaded yesterday and proceeded to install. It got to 93% and stalled. Left it for an hour or so but no change, so I did a forced shutdown. It rebooted and decided to restore mp previous version of win 10 which it did but it failed to set up my wireless card so no internet connection. Manually set up the wireless card and all seems ok. It tried to update again but exactly the same thing happened again. I am now back on Build 10532 where I started. The problem seems to be with the new build not being able to set up the wireless card so that it can connect to the internet. I am going to try again today with a cable connection to my router to see if this makes any difference. Any suggestions welcome -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maurice Helwig ~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Or at least that's what I was led to believe when I upgraded from Win8.1 :-) -- SC Tom |
