How to install XP on a computer with no previous operating system?
Greetings --
Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.) How to install XP on a computer with no previous operating system?
Consult the documentation that with the system to find out how to boot from
CD. I can't be more specific than that since I have three machines, including a laptop, and all three have different ways altering the boot order in order to hit the CD. I've also seen other machines that offer a fourth way and I'm pretty sure there are other methods as well. -- Walter Clayton - MS MVP(WinXP) Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced. http://www.dts-l.org http://support.microsoft.com/servicedesks/fileversion/default.asp| "Paul" wrote in message ...
