Default Messenger voice wont connect

Hi, I have the same exact problem, the msn often (majority of the
times) doesn't connect. I know my mic is configured correctly because
some times the msn voice connects correctly but usely not (and because I
know very well how to "configure" it)
In my oppinion the problem is on microsoft side, because I can
sometimes talk with a friend to later not be able to talk any more for
days with him. Soon the msn messenger 6.2 is comming, maybe it will fix
sommething?

I do not understand what you did to change "settings to recoding only"? The
procedure is to double click the volume icon in the system tray and then
select Options/Properties and the functions are then shown, first in the
Playback Mode, the Mic should NOT be checked at this point, the next Option
is Recording Mode and then the Mic Should be checked. Also, I do not
understand what you are say everytime it starts in "Playback Mode", what are
you talking about, I do not have the slightest idea.

Hi Joel

" What the heck is" configure my mike? You say if you can hear the mike

playing through your speakers then its "MISCONFIGURED" (your words exactly)
so I changed the setting to recording only but evertime I start my computer
it starts in playback mode. How do I fix this?

Id also like to say thanks from all of us for all the time you put in

answering our problems. Its a great help and alleviates a hell of alot of
frustration (still hate computers though lol sorry)
