Default Offline Files Sync Errors

Hi,
I've got a new Dell XP Pro laptop with My Docs redirected to my user
folder on a Win2K Server with SP4.
When I try to synchronize the offline files I get:

Errors occurred while Windows was synchronizing your data.
Offline Files (UNC path): Unable to make file (filename) available offline
on (local UNC path)Incorrect Function.

It's the same error message for every file (most are Word & Excel.)

I did not get this error prior to installing SP2, although I am unsure if
the error began exactly at that time.

I have disabled offline files and deleted all copies. Even moved the server
files and replaced them.

I can't find anything in the KB or on another support site. Does anyone have
any ideas??

Thanks very much for your time!

Default Offline Files Sync Errors

Well I finally got it working. I cut and pasted all of the files, re-synched
with no files present, then pasted them back. Afterwards the sync worked
correctly. I had already done that....but....magically it worked this time.

Does anyone know how to exclude specific files from synching? OR is there a
way to allow files which "cannot be synched" to be done anyway?? ie .mdb
files. I know there's a risk of corruption, but the files aren't changing,
just getting annoyed with the messages.

Thanks.

Hi,
If you do a search for gpedit.msc on your Hard Drive and then open it you can make modifications to what files are synchronized by going to:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files\Files not cached. Hope this helps.
