It's fun looking at MS's future though. I'm wondering if Apple are going to follow suit and give us a hybrid of OS X and iOS. Well Microsoft is giving us both a desktop and Metro UI. Apple only gives you one. Although the rumor is that Microsoft plans to phaseout the desktop. So Windows 9 might be Metro only. I've got two boxes (Win7 on one, Win8 on the other) with a KVM switch. It's good to give the second box some usage, rather than it just gathering dust in the spare room. I used to use KVM switches, but I switched over to docking and laptops nowadays. I have over 20 laptops and only one I like to have an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. The rest I can use their keyboard, screen, etc. I find this far better than using the KVM method. Plus you can see all of the screens at once too without any switching. ;-) Same here, disconnected the KVM into the recycle bin some 6 months ago. Been doing the laptop/tablet and down to two desktops with no real plans to replace them. -- Liberal-socialism is a great idea so long as the credit is good and other people pay for it. When the credit runs out and those that pay for it leave, they can all share having nothing but debt and discontentment. |
