What!!!?
I just checked this group about ten minutes ago. And now there are 65
new messages??? Okay, people, something's wrong. -- Ed Mullen http://edmullen.net/ The obituaries in the newspaper prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that people die in alphabetical order. |

The message you just posted is different. The message you just posted, has this suspicious content: http://al.howardknight.net/msgid.cgi...ews.alt.net%3E X-Mozilla-News-Host: snews://news.altopiacom:563 Now, the URI is mis-spelled and is missing the period between altopia and com. And besides, the server is news.alt.net. Somehow, you have managed to type a URI to trigger the news reader in Seamonkey, instead of selecting Window : Mail & Newsgroups. You may have clicked someone's snews link on a web page, and "jumped" to that server address. And you are assuming that everything is normal, and you're using your normal setup right now. Apparently not. You are pointed at something, but exactly what (old or deprecated server address) who can tell. Close your newsreader window, then use Window : Mail & Newsgroups and try again. See if altopia is now listed twice. One of the entries is likely the borked one. Paul |
